Improving predictions of coastal flooding via sub-mesh corrections.

This animation shows a comparison between the traditional ADCIRC result, and a modified ADCIRC with sub-mesh correction factors. The modified solution mimics the traditional with only slight differences along the wetting and drying front. This makes sense because we are now allowing for partially wet elements along the wet dry interface. Knowledge gained from this 1D solution is now being applied to the full 2D ADCIRC code.
